Interstate Route H-3 Units 1A and 1B

Park Engineering’s design team prepared the plans, specifications and estimates for Unit 1A and 1B of the H-3 Freeway on the Halawa Valley side of the Harano Tunnel. Units 1A and 1B were primarily elevated viaduct with some at-grade segments. In addition to the highway design, Park Engineering prepared drainage reports and performed the scour analysis for the bridge foundations encroaching into Halawa Stream. Evaluation and design of stream relocation and stream stability countermeasures were performed to ensure the long term safety and reliability of the highway improvements.
